Play it Forward Toy Drive
For the last several years, we have teamed up with host Levis Commons in the annual “Play it Forward” used toy drive where toys are collected the second weekend in January. We bring the toys back to our facility where they are cleaned, sanitized and get new batteries. Every year we pick a different charity to support. |
Annual Used Coat Drive Cousino collects gently used coats each fall at all five of our branch locations. We clean them and they are delivered to various charities, including The Cherry Street Mission, The Beach House, The Aurora House, The Family House and more. In two years we’ve cleaned and delivered nearly 2000 coats. Little Sisters of the Poor Sacred Heart Home is truly a state of the art facility that was designed for 75 full time residents. The Home offers three levels of care; independent living apartments, assisted living rooms and fully skilled nursing rooms and is a three story facility. It offers many amenities such as recreation rooms, common visiting lounges, a hobby center, in-house beauty parlor and a physical therapy center. Family House As a non-profit agency dedicated to keeping families together in time of crisis, Family House has offered hope to families since 1985. Annually, the emergency family shelter provides shelter, meals, and services to approximately 800 individuals, 70% of whom are children. Cousino donates food, clothing and toys on a fairly regular basis. |

Lake Kids Relief Fund This fund was established a few days after the devastating 2010 tornado. Some of the funds were used to take the kids on a shopping trip to help “kids feel like kids again and not storm victims who are without possessions.” Cousino held a charity golf outing to raise proceeds for the fund. Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Cousino Restoration is a proud participant in the popular ABC Series, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, surprising the Rhodes Family of Columbus, Ohio with the home of their dreams. The tight-knit, hard-working, loving, joyous Rhodes family has lived in their neighborhood for over 5 generations – and they have always put family first. Their bond is unbreakable — so when Grandpa James and Grandma Jackie’s adult daughter Makia was diagnosed with a potentially deadly brain tumor making her unable to work and needing daily care, they did not hesitate to take Makia and her kids into their 941 square foot home. |
