The customer contacted Cousino Restoration due to water damage affecting the laundry room, closet, and adjacent bedroom areas, requiring immediate containment, selective demolition, and professional mitigation assessment.

To resolve the issue, our team immediately set up containment barriers between the bedroom and laundry room to isolate the affected zones and prevent any cross-contamination to clean areas of the home. We then performed controlled demolition by removing seven sections of water-damaged drywall from the closet and laundry space to thoroughly inspect the underlying wall cavities and framing. Following demolition, we treated all exposed structural studs and surfaces with a professional-grade antimicrobial solution to disinfect the area and prevent microbial growth. Because moisture readings confirmed that structural drying equipment was not required, we concluded the on-site mitigation by taking precise measurements and completing comprehensive documentation for the initial mitigation claim as well as preparing the reconstruction and repair estimate for the complete restoration.
